Background

com.orientechnologies:orientdb-studio is a component of OrientDB Server Community Edition, a multi-model database management system. It provides a web-based Studio interface for managing and interacting with the database. The vulnerability in orientdb-studio allows for clickjacking attacks, where an attacker can trick a user into unknowingly performing actions on the Studio interface.

Vulnerability Detail

The Studio component in OrientDB Server Community Edition before 2.0.15 and 2.1.x before 2.1.1 does not properly restrict use of FRAME elements, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct clickjacking attacks via a crafted web site. Clickjacking is a technique that allows an attacker to overlay malicious content on top of a legitimate website, tricking users into performing unintended actions. In this case, an attacker can create a malicious website that embeds the Studio interface in a hidden frame, and then trick users into interacting with the hidden interface, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data leakage.
