Background
TeamPass is an open-source password manager that allows users to securely store and share passwords within a team or organization. It provides features such as user management, access control, and encryption. However, a vulnerability has been identified in versions before 2.1.27.9 that allows an authenticated attacker with manager rights to delete arbitrary users, including administrators, or modify attributes of any user except the administrator.
Vulnerability Detail
The vulnerability arises from a lack of proper enforcement of manager access control when requesting users.queries.php. This allows an attacker to tamper with the requests and manipulate the "id" parameter to invoke the "delete_user" function on users.queries.php. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker can delete any user or modify their attributes, except for the administrator. The impact of this vulnerability can be significant, as it allows unauthorized access and manipulation of user accounts and sensitive information.
