Background
The kernel-rt packages provide the Real Time Linux Kernel, which enables fine-tuning for systems with extremely high determinism requirements.
Vulnerability Detail
This update addresses two security vulnerabilities:
-
CVE-2022-2964: A memory corruption vulnerability in AX88179_178A based USB ethernet devices could lead to arbitrary code execution.
-
CVE-2022-4139: An incorrect GPU TLB flush in the i915 driver could result in random memory access.
These vulnerabilities could be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access, execute arbitrary code, or cause system instability.
How To Fix
Minimum fixed version
4.18.0-425.10.1.rt7.220.el8_7
This is the first release that contains the fix.
