Background
jquery-ujs is an npm package that provides jQuery extensions for unobtrusive scripting support in Rails applications. It allows developers to easily add AJAX functionality to their web applications. However, versions 1.0.3 and earlier of jquery-ujs are vulnerable to a CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) attack that can lead to information leakage and potential CSRF attacks.
Vulnerability Detail
The vulnerability in jquery-ujs arises from the mishandling of the href attribute of an anchor tag or the action attribute of a form tag triggering a POST action. An attacker can manipulate these attributes to set the href or action to an external domain, such as "https://attacker.com". By adding a space before the domain, jQuery considers it a same-origin request, resulting in the user's CSRF token being sent to the external domain. This information leakage can enable attackers to launch CSRF attacks against the user.
How To Fix

1.0.4
