Background
jsx-slack is an npm package that provides a JSX-based syntax for generating Slack messages. It allows developers to create Slack message layouts using JSX syntax, making it easier to generate complex message structures. However, versions of jsx-slack up to v4.5.1 are vulnerable to a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) attack. This vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker who can insert a large number of JSX elements into the <blockquote> tag, including multibyte characters.
Vulnerability Detail
The vulnerability in jsx-slack arises from an insufficient patch for CVE-2021-43838.
